Arbor Care Services

Oakridge Landscape Tree & Shrub Pruning
Pruning enhances the appearance and value of landscaping.  As trees grow, they require proper arbor care. This may be in the form of pruning, thinning or removing deadwood. Proper pruning is important because it removes weak, dead branches, storm damaged limbs, and diseased branches. Proper pruning can be used to train the growth patterns of young trees. Selective pruning provides clearance for driveways, structures, overhead lines, streets, sidewalks and driveways.

Tree and Stump Removal
Although Oakridge Landscape's Arbor Care staff considers every option to preserve your trees, there are situations were poor health, inappropriate location, or unacceptable safety hazards dictate the removal of mature trees. Removal may be the only tree management option. Some removal projects are quite routine, while others require highly technical skills including working around utility lines, complex rigging, or the use of large cranes. Oakridge Landscape crews include arborists and tree workers with all the skills necessary to safely complete the most difficult and hazardous removals. We are also equipped to grind out any size stump and assist with species selection and planting of a replacement tree where appropriate.

Planting a tree for life involves knowledge and planning for the future. For instance, the selection of the correct tree species for the site and preparing a planting area properly are two examples of proper planning. This is based on a new understanding of tree root systems. The active feeding roots of a tree are much shallower than once thought and the roots extend far beyond the drip line of the tree. Instead of preparing a small planting hole, we prepare a large planting area by spading or tilling the top 8 1/2 inches of soil of at least 1 and 1/2 times the size of the root ball. The larger the area you can spade, the better. Another common problems is planting the trees too deeply. Many community foresters now feel that it is better to plant a tree slightly higher than it was planted at the nursery and mound the soil to the top of the root ball.

24-hour Emergency Service at Oakridge Landscape
Improper tree pruning and storms may cause limbs or entire trees to become hazardous over the years. Hazardous trees can cause damage to people, homes, cars and structures around them. The weight of the branches of storm damaged trees is tremendous and they can be dangerous to remove. Evaluating dangerous trees must be performed and directed by a professional arborist. Oakridge Landscape has the knowledge, capacity and equipment to perform these emergency procedures.

"This is why we offer a 24-hour emergency service to assist in performing tree care safely, while minimizing present and further risk to your residents and property."
